2025-2026 Buddy Poppy Program 

Did you know? The very first VFW poppy distribution was performed just before Memorial Day in 1922 ! Soon after, the poppy was adopted as the official flower of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

For more than a century, the poppy has been a symbol of the VFW and has been helping to give back to veterans. The VFW Buddy Poppy Program gives compensation to those who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs, and also supports the VFW National Home.
